Stem Tronics Commitment: Environmental, Health and Safety

Stem Tronics is dedicated to environmental protection as well as the health and safety of our workforce, customers, and the community at large.

We maintain management systems that enable the integration of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) into our business processes and assure compliance with applicable standards and company requirements.

Stem Tronics is also committed to environmental protection and pollution control. Throughout the lifecycle of our facilities, operations, services, and products, we seek to detect and mitigate negative EHS impacts.

Corporate Responsibility

The Environmental Sustainability Mission of Stem Tronics

Stem Tronics Environmental Sustainability contributes to our corporate citizenship purpose by providing value to healthcare professionals, their patients, and stockholders while also respecting our social obligations. This goal connects us to environmental responsibility and motivates us to seek out and act on opportunities to improve our environmental performance.

We pledge to improve our EHS management systems and performance on a continuous basis. We set EHS objectives and targets, implement management systems and performance reviews, and share the findings with our workers, customers, and the general public on a regular basis.

Stem Tronics will encourage open communication with all stakeholders, including our employees, customers, and the general public, and will respond to their EHS concerns and suggestions. We shall freely disclose and share information about our EHS management systems as well as the EHS implications of our operations, services, and products.

The primary responsibility for executing this policy, assigning resources, and establishing and sustaining EHS programs remains with Stem Tronics facility managers. All levels of management will take steps to ensure that all employees understand the policy's meaning and importance. Our employees are in charge of incorporating EHS issues into their daily tasks.

Codes of Practice

Stem Tronics' EHS criteria for our business operations and facilities around the world are outlined in the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Codes of Practice. In essence, the Codes put the company's EHS policy into action. By incorporating EHS into our day-to-day business management processes, the EHS Codes of Practice serve as a model for enhancing productivity, growth, and customer focus. The Codes also ensure that all applicable EHS rules, as well as Company EHS policies and standards, are followed. They are the foundation for ongoing development in our operations around the world.

System Evaluation

Compliance with legislation and successful EHS activities are verified by a corporate internal audit program. Compliance with EHS Codes of Practice is determined through annual self-assessments. Annually, EHS-related indicators are gathered to track progress.

EHS Activities

Stem Tronics works to reduce impacts by harmonizing environmental sustainability across the manufacturing network, with an emphasis on the following areas:

  • Greenhouse gas emissions, commonly known as the carbon footprint, are measured in carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e).
  • Hazardous waste generation.
  • Wastes that become landfilled are being recycled or re-purposed.
  • Reduction of water consumption.
  • Corporate Energy and Water Requirements direct and guide sites to minimize or enhance their use of these consumables on a constant basis. Metrics acquired at the site level, which highlight utility usage and trends, help to further drive favorable outcomes.
  • At the major Stem Tronics facilities, energy assessments have been undertaken to identify substantial energy uses and focus our efforts on managing these sources as efficiently as possible.
